Catherine and Al on the move

Every time we do a long-haul flight, we say “Never again”! Then Lyndy says, “Hey let’s go to       (insert destination)        “, and we’re off again. We were on a Delta code-share with Virgin flight from Sydney, totally packed, while Lisa and John lucked out with an upgrade to premium economy on their Virgin flight.

After early check-in, we had breakfast with beers down the road to kill the jet-lag, then hopped a local bus to Venice Beach. Lyndy made friends with some funky young guys on the bus and they gave us a guided tour! Very early dinner at an Italian restaurant and we crashed for 11 hours.

Jet-lagged diners

Our tour bus picked us up for the LA tour next morning, back to Venice and Santa Monica beaches, just gorgeous but a hot day, 33 deg. Then Beverly Hills, stars’ homes, Hollywood, the Observatory etc. Lisa and John met Richard Reid and Steve Jacobs from the Today show in Hollywood.

Sorry for lack of detail, this is very tiring with one hand!

We are waiting at Long Beach airport for the flight to San Francisco. Having a great time, it was really good to have a proper look at LA, now we know what to do when we come back in a week’s time, and at the end of our trip.
